This was my first attempt in a long time at actually writing poetry in the style of a rap and it heavily influenced my word choice and placement. Lyrically, this very much captures the feeling of living with high functioning autism (in my case at least). It follows a repeated pattern to my life experience: manually trying to establish how much to interpret one’s understanding of things as literal vs metaphor, while also being aware that its much is skewed by cognitive distortions too. It results in constant mental impasse as you overanalyse pretty much everything.
